Interesting facts and additional tips
- Take a supply of fuel and food. There may be no gas stations or shops in remote areas. It's good to have snacks, a thermos of tea, and something for a quick snack.
- Download offline maps to your smartphone. In the Carpathians, the connection is often lost, so it is better to have access to navigation without the Internet. Even better is to have a spare paper map to plot your travel route.
- Remember about animals. Rare species live in the Carpathians - lynx, brown bear, spotted salamander. Do not approach them and do not feed them.
- Choose official camping sites by car. It is cleaner, safer and often has basic infrastructure.
- In the mountains, the weather changes very quickly. Take a raincoat, a warm sweater or waterproof pants - it will definitely not be superfluous.
- Shypit waterfall is one of the most beautiful in the Carpathians. It is located near Pylypets. If you are nearby, be sure to stop by. The photos will be gorgeous.
- It is better not to travel on mountain roads at night. Fog, poor lighting and narrow turns make driving difficult. Plan your route so that you can arrive in the daylight.
